2 weeks ago I and a friend where together in Luxemburg for the National Day. The celebrations in the Captial started on 22.06 at 16h00 CEST with the the Changing of the Guard at the Grand Ducal Palace. There where a lot of people there but luckily we coud get a good sight. In the Evening the Festivities contnued with a Folklore and Torchlight Procession at the Place Guillaume II. We arrived just short before the Grand Ducal Family arrived there . Present where Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Prince Felix, Prince Louis, Tessy de Nassau (the next day she was raised to Princess of Luxemburg) and Prince Sebastien. The Family watched the procession from a Platform. After the Procession a big firework took place over the Point Adolphe and the Valée de la Petrusse. During my recent teavel to Coburg i and my friends also made a Visit to the Burial Ground on the Glockenberg. With thanks to netty who had organized it we even got a guided Tour through the Ducal Mausoleum which normaly can not be visited inside. The Mausoleum, was build in the years 1853-1858 on behalf of Duke Ernst II. for the members of the Ducal Family of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The building is in the shape of a three-nave romanesque Basilica. Insdie the Mausoleum there is a quadtratic Chaepl who is two stores high. On the ground floor there are 2 Crypt 's the northern Corridor Crypt and the southern Corridor Crypt. In the Norhtern Corridor Crypt are buried the Duke Ernst I. and his wifes Duchess Luise, and Duchess Marie. Duchess Luise was first buried in the parish Church of Pfeffelbach nr. Grumbach but in 1846 her Coffin was transferred to Coburg and aftter the Mausoleum was completed in 1860 her Coffin found there its final resting place. Also in the Nothern Corridor Crypt...
